This excellent opinion piece in Newsweek is yet another reminder that the pool of candidates for jobs is smaller than it has been in years because law school enrollment has taken an unprecedented dip.  Of course the caveat is the reason behind the dip–less demand for legal services which means fewer jobs available for new lawyers. So how do you break into BigLaw in this environment? When summer associate classes have dropped from double to single digits? Especially when you aren’t the first in your class or coming out of a “top” law school? The opportunities are there, but you have to be very targeted and smart about how you seize them. Start today.
