Government Work Leads To BigLaw Success?

Interesting article on Law360.com:

“A veteran litigator had an unorthodox suggestion for female BigLaw associates at a symposium in New York on Wednesday: Go into government.”

For various, mostly personal reasons, I did not take this path.  But I agree this is a common and rather successful way of asserting yourself in BigLaw, especially if you are a litigator and especially if you are interested in litigating white collar cases.

Whether this path is more helpful to female attorneys is an interesting spin.  I think anyone, male or female, who can break into BigLaw should consider taking steps to also break into big government after a couple of years–if finances and your personal situation are compatible with doing so.
